Privacy policy

This is Patrick Branchaud’s site. I collect the bare minimum, and I would rather tell you exactly what that is than drown you in ten pages of legalese.

1. Who is responsible

That would be me, Patrick Branchaud. For any question, or to access, correct or delete your information, email patrick@pbranchaud.com. I answer it myself.

2. What I collect

Only what you hand over on purpose:

  • The contact form: your name, your email and your message.
  • The chat: the content of your conversation with my clone, and whatever contact details you choose to leave in it.

If you accept cookies, Google Analytics tells me which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from and what kind of device they use. It is aggregate statistics: I am not trying to find out who you are. No advertising pixels, no profiling, nothing sold to anyone.

3. Cookies and local storage

Until you click “Accept”, this site sets no cookies and Google Analytics does not even load. If you accept, Analytics sets its measurement cookies (_ga and _ga_…), which exist to tell visits apart. If you decline, nothing loads, and the site works exactly the same.

The chat widget does keep two keys in your browser’s local storage: a client id and a session key. They exist so the conversation remembers itself when you move between pages. They stay in your browser; clearing the site data removes them.

The consent banner stores your choice (“pb-consent”) so it stops asking on every visit. That choice is what governs whether Analytics loads at all. You can change it by clearing the site data in your browser.

4. Where your information goes

  • Form messages are emailed to me through Resend, and a copy is kept in a Cloudflare database (D1) so your request does not get lost.
  • The chat runs through Voiceflow, which processes the conversation.
  • The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps technical logs (including IP addresses) for security and abuse prevention.
  • If you accepted cookies, traffic data goes to Google Analytics.

These providers may process data outside Québec, including in the United States. I sell nothing to anyone, and I share your information with no third party for marketing.

5. How long

I keep contact requests for as long as they are useful to our business relationship. Ask me to delete yours at any time and I will.

6. Your rights

Québec’s Law 25 gives you the right to access your information, correct it, delete it and withdraw your consent. An email to patrick@pbranchaud.com is enough. If my answer does not satisfy you, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
